Today’s featured artist is Haddon Sundblom. He was best known for the images of Santa Claus he created for The Coca-Cola Company. The internet is still coming and going. But I thought I would try and post at least one time today:) So here is a nice time lapse painting demo by Jonathan Hardesty, enjoy.

For this exercise we will be drawing a skeleton in a dynamic pose. First do gesture drawings to find the pose you like. Then do a detailed skeleton in that pose.
For this next exercise we will do some more gesture drawing to loosen up from the last work:) For this one I would like you to do several simple style gesture type drawings. Really try and capture the gesture and movement of the person. Have them doing things like pushing, pulling falling, dancing, fighting etc. [ Read More ]
OK for this exercise we want to do several studies of hands in different poses. You can use the constructive method on this one.
This next exercise goes back to the optical way of doing things. You will want to look at areas of light and dark to make the copy not construct it like the last exercise. I know this is some what contradictory but training your self to see in both ways will give you the best [ Read More ]
For this next exercise you will do a full detailed figure using the construction methods of Bridgeman and Loomis etc.
